Welcome from the Principal

Welcome to Valencia Islamic School. Since our establishment, we have been dedicated to providing a nurturing environment where young minds can flourish.

As we expand into the Foundation Phase (Grade R - 3), our commitment remains the same: to offer a balanced education that combines academic excellence with strong moral and Islamic values. We believe that every child is unique and deserves individual attention to reach their full potential.

Our Curriculum

We follow the National Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) prescribed by the Department of Basic Education, enriched with our unique values-based ethos.

Foundation Phase (Gr R-3)

  • Mathematics: Number sense, patterns, and problem-solving.
  • Home Language (English): Reading, phonics, handwriting, and listening skills.
  • Life Skills: Creative arts, physical education, and personal well-being.

Islamic Studies (Optional)

Offered to Muslim learners as an integrated part of their day.

  • Quran: Hifz (memorisation) and correct pronunciation (Tajweed).
  • Fiqh & Tareekh: Practical Islamic rules and history suitable for young minds.
  • Adab (Etiquette): Daily duas and character building.

Holistic Development

  • Computer Literacy: Basic introduction to technology and coding concepts.
  • Sports: Mini-cricket, soccer, and netball skills development.
  • Excursions: Educational trips to enhance classroom learning.

How we assess your child

In the Foundation Phase, assessment is continuous (CASS). We do not have formal "exams." Instead, learners are assessed daily through oral work, practical tasks, and written activities. You will receive a formal report card at the end of each Term.
